On the same bleak day as the Bronze Shield at 8.00 am with fog everywhere, the teams of Moss Vale and Royal Canberra were at the ready to do battle for the sought after CSGA Plate.  Nearly all players ventured out in carts, only 2 players walked the course.  It was a slow start for the teams with visibility very limited.  Once the fog cleared and the sun tried to appear, the battle was on.  This tussle between these two teams was very very close and the score is not indicative of the closeness.  There were three matches which ventured to the 18th hole to establish a result.  The eventual victors were Royal Canberra for the third consecutive year and this was an underlying pressure on the team, whereas Moss Vale had nothing to lose and accordingly fought hard for the title.  In their loss of 5 / 0 Moss Vale demonstrated sportsmanship and integrity and can walk away knowing they fought hard.
