2019 saw, for the first time, the Foursomes Championships being a stand alone competition in lieu of the back end of the Annual Championships which historically is / was a three day tournament.  It was viewed that in today’s lifestyle, not all have the availability of three days to attend the Annual Champs.  So it was held at Gold Creek as you will appreciate, trying to secure a golf course in ACT on a Sunday was a  real stumbling block.  So the day was benign however, the greens were not.  We all appreciate that at the moment that none of our courses are displaying their best due to lack of rain, frosts, Canberra winter and the BIRDS who continually eat away our fairways.  But Gold Creek greens were great and when a breeze sprang up very early in the procedures and dried out the greens, wow – putting was difficult and many of the players were sword fighting with the hole!   Despite this there were winners and they are Cheryl Gorman and  Lisa Watson both from Yowani with a gross score of 87.  This is indicative of the difficult greens.  Our nett winners were Jodie Thorne and Susan Daniels both from Gold Creek with a nett score of 67.5.
