The annual Canberra Shield was held at Gungahlin Lakes Golf Club with a 8.30 shotgun start in what can only be described as a ‘miserable’ morning. The fog won the day until very late and the temp was in the single figures. Players were so rugged up it was very hard to identify anyone. However, as our District Ladies have proven year after year, to be ‘stalwarts’ for our competition, they endured and completed the rounds. The winning team was home favourites, Gungahlin Lakes on twelve with six wins (2 points per win) followed very closely by Royal Canberra on ten. Great effort Ladies and a very enjoyable day.
