The Canberra Shield was contested today for the final time at Queanbeyan. Eight players from ten clubs met on an extremely frosty and chilly morning, with the proshop providing warnings to players about black ice on the course.
Congratulations to Murrumbidgee Country Club winners, with 13pts over Burns Golf Club on 12pts. There certainly was some excitement watching the last player for Murrumbidgee putt on the 18th to win her match. The CSGA thanks Queanbeyan for hosting the event, and a big thank you to our starters Janet Jensita on the 1st, and Margie Bain-Smith on the 9th. Their warm welcome to many players playing their first matchplay event was appreciated.
