The annual Yass Hospital Auxiliary Charity Golf Day, held on Thursday 16 April, delivered a fantastic day of golf and community support. Players enjoyed perfect conditions — sunshine, a light breeze and a beautifully prepared course in excellent shape.
A field of 64 players took part, with all but two holding a handicap. The event attracted 48 women and 17 men, including strong representation from ACT clubs such as Burns Belconnen, Federal, Murrumbidgee, Queanbeyan and Yowani, along with a visitor from Coolamon and even one from Scotland. The competition was played as Stableford.
Local knowledge proved valuable, with many prizes going to Yass members. Categories included two divisions each for Women and Men, Visitor (Female & Male), Non‑Handicap, and an Encouragement Award for the lowest score. Prizes were generously donated by Yass businesses and the ladies of the Yass Hospital Auxiliary.
A stunning handmade quilt, raffled by the Auxiliary, added to the fundraising efforts. In total, more than $2,000 was raised for the Yass Hospital Auxiliary — a wonderful result for a very worthy cause.
