Pauline Jeffery (Queanbeyan), Wendy Lynch (Queanbeyan), John Mihaljevic (Royal Canberra) and Greg Mosey (Federal) represented the ACT at the Australian Senior Amateur played at The Links Lady Bay Golf Resort, SA, 16-18 October 2024.
Lady Links Bay was certainly a challenge for the players with 120 bunkers, large undulating greens and wind.
After day two the ACT were ahead of both WA and TAS and only a couple of shots behind QLD but with the last day being windy and wet the ACT struggled, finishing just ahead of TAS.
Gemma Dooley (NSW) won her first Senior Championship in a playoff from 3-time Champ Sue Wooster (VIC). Age group winners were Gemma Dooley 50-54, Sue Wooster 60-64, Jacqui Morgan (NSW) 65-69 and June Tickell (VIC) 70 years and over. Congrats to all players.
