What began as a rainy morning and ended in sunshine set the tone for a memorable Federal Women’s Open Day, where 120 women took to the course in great spirits.
Just a week earlier, Federal Golf Course was running critically low on water. Then came Saturday’s downpour—welcome, but challenging. The greens staff were put to the test, and course renovations originally planned for March had to be brought forward. By Thursday, their hard work showed. The course looked fantastic: still a few bare patches, some debris, and bunkers out of play, but with generous preferred lies in the general area, players embraced the conditions and enjoyed a wonderful day of golf.
