With warm autumn weather providing ideal playing conditions, 75 competitors took to the course for the 2026 Goulburn Golf Club Women’s Open Day — and they were treated to a fantastic day of golf.

Once all cards were submitted, the leaderboard revealed a tie at the top. Queanbeyan players Lauren Stensrud and Tiana Westbury both returned impressive 75 gross scores, sending the event into a three‑hole sudden‑death playoff. The contest remained tight until the final hole, where Tiana produced a superb pressure shot onto the green. When Lauren’s putt narrowly missed, Tiana secured the win. Remarkably, it was her first time playing the course, making her victory — and the accompanying South Coast & Southern Tablelands Cup — even more memorable.

In Division 2, Margaret Webb claimed top honours with an 84 gross, followed closely by Karen Brock on 85 gross. Division 3, played as a Stableford event, was won by Christine Hornig with 41 points, just ahead of Rona Hope on 40 points.

Adding to the atmosphere was a pop‑up BirdeeSport clothing shop, organised by Jenny Joseph. Players enjoyed browsing the stylish golf and leisure wear, and BirdeeSport generously donated a $150 voucher for one lucky shopper. In a perfect end to her day, winner Tiana Westbury also had her name drawn for this prize.

Acting President Donna Kent presented the awards, congratulating all winners and thanking the field for their participation. She also acknowledged the Committee for their hard work in preparing the event.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day of golf, camaraderie, and great competition. We look forward to welcoming everyone back again soon.
